How Beyond The Wonderland scaled website traffic with native ads

Beyond The Wonderland is a hybrid expedition travel agency in Northern Pakistan, near the Karakoram mountain range and K2 Base Camp. The company combines Western standards of safety, logistics, and organization with deep local integration and long-term relationships with local families and guides.

Unlike traditional international travel agencies that outsource operations to local partners and capture most of the margin, Beyond The Wonderland was founded to serve as a bridge between cultures, offering small groups, close community involvement, and authentic local storytelling.

The challenge

As a newly launched travel agency entering its first operating season, Beyond The Wonderland faced several key challenges:

Low brand awareness

The company was new to the market, and very few people were aware that the brand existed.

Limited marketing budget

As a solo founder managing the entire business, Alice needed a solution that worked with a small, flexible budget and did not require long-term commitments or agency retainers.

Highly differentiated positioning

The value proposition (small groups, community integration, female empowerment, local storytelling) differed strongly from large, established competitors, which makes awareness and education especially important.

Minimal website traffic

Despite having built a website, traffic was close to zero before launching paid campaigns.

No internal marketing team or tools

As marketing is handled directly by the founder, an intuitive performance-oriented digital advertising solution was needed.

The primary goal was therefore to build awareness and drive initial website traffic to establish Beyond The Wonderland as a credible alternative to large international expedition agencies.

The solution

To address these challenges, Beyond The Wonderland launched its first native advertising campaign using the Readpeak platform.

The results

The setup, automated optimization, and integration to premium publisher environments enabled strong performance with minimal operational effort. In short, Readpeak effectively supported scalable traffic growth while keeping campaign execution simple and resource-efficient. This has laid the ground to launch follow-up campaigns in 2026 with a larger budget.

Brand impact

Beyond The Wonderland is gaining recognition as a distinct, values-driven trekking agency, offering a clear alternative to large, impersonal competitors.

Early validation shows our approach — small, curated groups, authentic local integration, and female leadership — deeply resonates with our audience, reinforcing their position as a premium, socially responsible choice in expedition travel.

Learnings

  • Visual storytelling is a strong driver of engagement for adventure travel
  • Transparency and ease of use are critical for founders without dedicated marketing teams
  • Awareness campaigns are a necessary first step before optimizing for conversions in niche, high-consideration travel products
  • Improve website conversion paths based on learnings

What I really loved about using Readpeak for Beyond The Wonderland, our trekking agency, was how easy and agile the platform is.

The tools are transparent, making it simple to articulate and adjust campaigns, and the reporting provides full visibility on performance. Having complete visibility on the publishers where native ads are placed is a real game changer, and the detailed insights allowed us to clearly see traffic grow and refine our approach for the next campaign.
