Readpeak is the fastest-growing native advertising platform in the Nordics. Our stated mission is to make native advertising as easy and efficient as possible so that you can drive sales and engagement for your products or services.
Today we'll share our favorite tools that you can use in combination with our platform to boost your next native advertising campaign.
Let's get started!
The Readpeak dashboard gives you all your data in one place. However, we recommend Google Analytics for a deeper understanding of the users who engage with your content. This free tool from Google allows you to track many aspects of your native advertising campaign, such as:
Bounce rate: How do you know you are promoting the right content? Check the bounce rate of your campaign in Google Analytics. Bounce rate is a percentage measurement of single-page sessions where there was no interaction with the page. In simple terms, bounce rate measures visitors who come to a website and leave without looking at any of the other pages. A bounced session has a duration of 0 seconds. Bounce rate is an essential metric because if, for example, it is very high, it could suggest that the page content is irrelevant or even confusing to your site visitors. On the other hand, a low bounce rate means that your readers are very interested in your content; they have been eagerly reading your article and browsing around.
But how do you know which and how many pages visitors have viewed the most?
Let's check another important metric you should track with Google Analytics…
Page/Session: Pages/Session (Average Page Depth) is the average number of pages viewed during a session. This measure helps you know if you're driving the type of readers to your content that are interested in reading more information about your company. It can vary from industry to industry, but you should aim to have at least two pages per session as that would mean that your readers have viewed at least two pages.
Average Session Duration: Average Session Duration is the average length of combined site visits. Alongside pages per session and bounce rate, average session duration is a crucial metric that shows how long users stay on your site.
At the site level, it's a helpful metric for indicating the engagement of your site content. You should aim to have at minimum 2-3 minutes of average session duration.
Pro Tip: With Readpeak, you can enable Dynamic UTM Parameters, and our platform automatically creates UTM parameters for every click. You don't need to add anything! See how this feature works in detail here.
A strong, engaging headline is essential for a successful native ad. When building native ads, you need to remember that your ads will appear next to content by seasoned journalists who understand how to drive users to click on their articles. Coming up with killer headlines is challenging, especially if you've always struggled to decide the best title for your blog articles. If that sounds like you, we've got the solution: Title Generator.
This free website allows you to create up to 700 headlines with a single click! All you need to do is enter a keyword, for example, the most relevant keyword related to your product or service. Then press “enter”, and you'll get a list of catchy headlines that you can use for your native ads.
Pro Tip: Use this tool to generate content ideas. Scrolling through suggestions you've built from your keywords will help you gather creative and innovative ideas to develop new blog content.
But what if you have all of those ideas but no time or resources to develop the content?
Has building content or ad copy been on your "to-do list" for way too long? Try ContentFly, subscription-based content creation and copywriting platform designed to make it easy to get high-quality content.
Once you've set up a profile, you can submit a brief for your content. From there, one of ContentFly’s talented content creators will pick it up and start working on it. ContentFly is an excellent platform if you don't have an in-house content creator or team. It gives you access to reliable, cost-efficient, and quality content.
Pro Tip: In the brief, be as detailed as possible about the content you need. The more information you give them, the more satisfied you'll be with the final content.
You need eye-catching visuals to engage your audience. One huge benefit of native ads is that they appear in a selected publisher's newsfeed, marked as advertisements.
However, this is only a benefit if done carefully.
It's challenging to develop the right images for your native ads, especially if you want to place them with more than one publisher. That's why we recommend testing several images to optimize your native advertising campaign.
Canva is an excellent and user-friendly graphic design platform. It offers graphic design tools and templates for social media, infographics, marketing posters, business cards, eBooks, and more, including images for native ads. Canva allows you to modify existing photos, upload and polish your own images, or even create brand new ones.
Most importantly, you don't need any graphic design experience to create high-quality visual content. Because of its simple drag and drop interface, Canva arms you with a broad range of effects, photo editing options, font combinations, color palettes, and custom image sizes.
It's an excellent tool for combining the power of Readpeak with high-quality content marketing to help boost your native advertising campaigns.
Pro Tip: Canva allows you to select the size of images you create. To ensure your native ads look great on all sites and placements, use the standard 1200 x 628 dimensions — which are the same size as LinkedIn ads.
You've made it! Your native ads reached thousands of readers and drove them to your landing page. You can track the results on Google Analytics, where you can see detailed data about how the campaign is performing.
But what happens once the users are on your landing page? Are they truly engaged with your content? Did they take the action you wanted them to take? If not, why not?
Hotjar has the answer to all of these questions. This software is a great tool that reveals your users' voices and online behaviors. Through a combination of feedback and analysis tools, Hotjar can give you an excellent overview of how to boost your site's user experience and your conversion and performance rates.
With Hotjar, you understand how users engage with your content through heat maps that visualize their clicks and actions alongside recordings of their sessions. This information will help you build a robust, data-driven understanding of what people use your site for and how they use it.
Perhaps your content has broken links, so some users got annoyed and dropped off your website. Or maybe you can see that they are scrolling around and can't find what they are looking for. Or, (because we like to keep it positive), maybe you’ve nailed your content, and you’ve got loads of conversions to your landing page, so you want to know what triggered the users to follow your CTA so you can reuse this formula.
Pro Tip: Don't forget to add "Hotjar" on your Analytical Cookies to show complete transparency to your website visitors. Before you start worrying about the users' privacy, Hotjar is fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Read more about it here.
